General Note

Théologien et polémiste protestant. Professeur de philosophie à Leyde en 1593. Pasteur à Charenton en 1599. Professeur de théologie à Sedan en 1621. A aussi écrit en latin, et traduit du français en grec. Ne pas confondre avec son fils: Du Moulin, Pierre (1600-1684).

French protestant minister and religious controversalist, Du Moulin was educated at Sedan, then Cambridge. He became Professor of Philosophy and Logic at Leiden University, 1592-98, and there developed as a writer, and developed into a leading voice of French protestantism. He moved to England in 1615 and became a strong supporter of James VI and I, and a promoter of protestant unity. He returned to France and to Sedan where he spent his last years.
