Acteur, débuta à Bologne, puis à Venise, fut appelé à Paris en 1741 et y accomplit une carrière de 42 ans. - Fut le dernier des Arlequins de la Comédie-Italienne. - Écrivit pour le théâtre. - La question de son amitié avec Clément XIV et l'existence d'une correspondance sont discutées ; si la première est avérée, la seconde est sans doute apocryphe, oeuvre de Henri de Latouche
