Graveur sur cuivre. - Orfèvre de formation. - Engagé dans l'armée pendant la guerre d'indépendance américaine, il grava des scènes de la bataille de Lexington & Concord publiées en 1775. - Vers les années 1820, il a fondé un atelier de gravure à Cincinnati, Ohio avec Samuel Bishop Munson (1806-1880) appelé "Doolittle & Munson"
