depiction of ...
Drawing by an unknown artist of a statue of Hermann von Balk (also called Hermann Balk), the Teutonic Order's first Landmeister of Prussia, serving from 1230 until his death in 1239, by German sculptor Otto Geyer. The statue was installed in the 1870s at the "Westportal" of the railroad bridge in Thorn (de) over the Vistula, but was removed in the 1920s, after control of Thorn (under Polish control: Toruń) was transferred from Germany to Poland in the Treaty of Versailles.
