"Device of two women labelled Justitia and Religio, the latter standing on a skull; with mottoes, Suum cuique and Deum cole, and below, His suffulta durant and the initials of Henry Charteris. (α) With H. C. Passed to his son Robert Charteris in 1599. Passed to Andro Hart ? c. 1610, and to his heirs in 1621. (β) With H. C. excised."
Ornamental head-piece with A and a heart. Passed to Andro Hart's heirs in 1621.
