Bakkalaureat an der Universität Leipzig, 1632 Student in Wittenberg; ab 1634 in Holstein und Dänemark als Erzieher bei adligen Familien; Rückkehr nach Leipzig, dort 1640 Lic. iur., 1641 Dr. iur. utr. 1644 Hofrat in Wolfenbüttel. - Vertrat Braunschweig-Lüneburg 1649 auf dem Exekutionstag in Nürnberg und seit 1655 auf dem Reichsdeputationstag in Frankfurt am Main (Abberufung im Oktober 1661). In seiner Wohnung wurde am 15. August 1658 der Rheinbund-Vertrag zwischen den deutschen Fürsten unterzeichnet.
