'bookseller to the University, stationer, bookbinder and Western Book Club' “Glas Dir” 1864-70 James MacLehose was a close friend of Daniel MacMillan, who became an eminent Cambridge bookseller and there are many references to him in Thomas Hughes “Memoir of Macmillan”. James MacLehose died 20 December 1885. MacLehose also had a large bindinng shop and shared the binding of Glasgow University prizes with Carss & Co. The firm presented a collection of all the books published by the firm to Glasgow University in 1905.
