General Note

Abbaye de bénédictins fondée en 1083 par Henri III comte de Louvain. Elle adhéra à la congrégation de Bursfeld en 1519. Supprimée en 1796. Rétablie en 1838 à Termonde (diocèse de Gand, Belgique), d'où des moines partirent à Afflighem en 1870 pour restaurer l'ancienne abbaye. Depuis 1858 l'abbaye appartient à la congrégation de Subiaco
