Von 1840 bis zu seinem Tod in Rom als Maler, Kunsthändler und Fotograph tätig. 1846 erwarb er vom Kunsthändler Vito Enei die nicht identifizierte Grablegung Christi von Michelangelo und verkaufte sie 1868 an die National Gallery, London.
