Maison d'édition spécialisée en livres pour enfants créée en 1787 à Londres par le graveur William Darton (1755-1819). - De 1791 à 1810, a pour nom "Darton and Harvey" suite à l'association avec l'imprimeur-libraire Joseph Harvey (1764-1841). - De 1810 à 1819 prend pour nom "Darton, Harvey and Darton" suite à l'entrée de son fils Samuel (1785-1840) dans l'entreprise. - De 1819 à 1833 prend le nom de "Harvey and Darton". - De 1833 à 1838 reprend le nom "Darton and Harvey". - De 1838 à 1846 reprend le nom "Harvey and Darton" puis est rachetée par Robert Yorke Clarke and Co
