James Simpson stationer married Miss Agnes daughter of deceast John Pringle farmer of Libberton 5 November 1781. Member of the Edinburgh Bookseller's Society 31 March 1787 and 27 April 1793. The National Library of Scotland has an undated catalogue of his books. Apprentices; Guthrie Cleland 25 August 1789; William Myrtle, Burgess 26 January 1815.
