General Note

John Gilmour, son of William Gilmour of Kilmarnock, apprenticed to William Duncan bookseller Glasgow 1719. Burgess and Guild Brother as married to Isobel daughter to Robert Logan merchant 29 May 1739. Apprentices: Robert Wark, son of John Wark 1742; Archibald Bochanon [sic], son of Archibald Buchanan 1743; William Marshall bookseller and merchant Burgess and Guild Brother as serving apprentice with John Gilmour bookseller and merchant 25 May 1749; Andrew Mann 1758. Son William died Jan 1771. John Gilmour died in 1772. Will of John Gilmour bookbinder registered 13 September 1773.
