Cartoon of Franz Schmeykal (1826 - 1894), leader of etnic Germans in Bohemia, promoter of language division of Bohemia into "German" and "Czech & German" speaking regions. Strongly disliked by ethnic Czechs. The cartoon in a Czech-language satirical magazine shows him as putting on a shirt of "rage" (cs: zuřivost) while stepping on "tolerance" (cs: snášenlivost). The caption is a Czech language joke, based on having the same word (šváb) for "Schwab" (nickname for Germans) and "cockroach", and the the same one ("svlékl se") for "took off clothes" and "moulted": (more-less, "After becoming the first šváb, he changed as švábs do") [Karel Krejčík (1857 - 1901) / Humoristické listy, year 1881, issue 14, digitized by Czech Academy of Sciences -- Public domain -- http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Franz Schmeykal 1887 Krejcik.png]
