Student und Dozent in Halle. Sekretär des Diplomaten Freiherr Bernhard Friedrich von Krosigk und Hauslehrer für seine Söhne. 1704 Expedition nach Südafrika und Forschungen dort. Ab 1707 Sekretär von Ludwig Assenburg (bei der Niederländischen Ostindien-Kompanie) und ab 1711 zusätzlich bei Johann Mukder. 1718 zum Rektor der Lateinschule von Neustadt an der Aisch berufen.
