Johannes Jensius (1671-1755) Dutch linguist, born in The Hague in 1671, died in The Hague on 14 March 1755. Studied at Leiden University and received a gold medal from that university for reciting a Latin poem about the revolution in England. He was pro-rector of the Latin school in The Hague (1697), Rector of the illustrious school in Dordrecht (1700) and professor and rector of the Erasmian School in Rotterdam (1719)
