Universitätsbuchhändler; Filiale in Darmstadt ab 1797(?), dort trat 1806 sein ehemaliger Lehrling C. W. Leske als Teilhaber ein, ab 1811 bis 1821 nannte sich die Firma "Heyer & Leske", dann erfolgte die Trennung. Heyer trat seinen Anteil ab an seinen ältesten Sohn J. W. Heyer. 1818 begründete Heyer die Universitätsbuchdruckerei in Gießen und trat 1827 das Gießener Sortimentsgeschäft seinem Sohne Friedrich Wilhelm Heyer. Im Jahre 1834 erscheint die Information "G. F. Heyer, Vater"
